UT ECE Grad Student Xingyu Zhang Receives Best Student Paper at SPIE Optics + Photonics Conference [1]

UT ECE Graduate Student Xingyu Zhang recently won a Best Student Paper Award at the Organic Photonics + Electronics Symposium, held at the SPIE Optics + Photonics Conference, San Diego, CA, August 17-24, 2014. Xingyu Zhang received this award for his paper entitled "Miniaturized low-power electro-optic modulator based on silicon integrated nanophotonics and organic polymers" (SPIE paper 9181-40).

Xingyu Zhang received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China, and his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, MI. He is currently pursuing his PhD degree at The University of Texas at Austin and is advised by Professor Ray T. Chen [3].
